  31.         Installation instructions for the Lexmark Optra N
  32.               Printer Driver for Microsoft Windows 3.1

  35.         1.  Start Windows and select and open the MAIN program group.
  36.  
  37.         2.  Select and open the CONTROL PANEL program.
  38.  
  39.         3.  On the Control Panel dialog, select and open PRINTERS.
  40.             The Printers dialog will appear.
  41.  
  42.         4.  On the Printers dialog, select ADD.  In the List of Printers box,
  43.             select "Install Unlisted or Updated Printer".  Then select INSTALL.
  44.  
  45.         5.  The Install Driver dialog is displayed.  Enter the drive (and
  46.             path) that contains the new driver files (examples - A:\ or
  47.             C:\(path)\) and select OK.
  48.  
  49.         6.  The Add Unlisted or Updated Printer dialog will be displayed.  In
  50.             the List of Printers box, select your printer model (for example,
  51.             "Lexmark Optra N").  It may be necessary to scroll down the
  52.             list to see your printer model.

  54.         7.  Select OK to install the driver files.  If the printer driver
  55.             was previously installed, you will be asked which port connection
  56.             you want to use.  Select the Current button.
  57.  
  58.         8.  When the driver files have been installed, the Printers dialog
  59.             will be redisplayed.  Select the "Lexmark Optra N"
  60.             in the Installed Printers box; then select CONNECT.  The Connect
  61.             dialog will be displayed.  Select the desired printer port, normally
  62.             LPT1:, and select OK.  You will return to the Printers dialog.

  64.         9.  Select Setup on the Printers dialog.  The Lexmark Optra N
  65.             Printer dialog will be displayed.  On this dialog, you can select
  66.             default print job attributes such as graphics resolution, paper
  67.             source, and paper size.  Acknowledge your choices by selecting OK.
  68.             You will return to the Printers dialog.

  70.        10.  To make the Lexmark Optra N Printer the currently active
  71.             printer, select SET AS DEFAULT PRINTER. Select CLOSE to exit
  72.             PRINTERS and return to the CONTROL PANEL.
